About Camp Papillon

About Camp East at the Camp Papillon facilities

Camp Papillon facility is a 40-acre site located approximately 120 km north of Montreal on Lake St. Pierre. Camp Papillon, which means butterfly, is part of the Quebec Society for Disabled Children. The facility is fully equipped to meet both the recreational fun and unique needs of campers in both English and French.

By using the Camp Papillon facilities, Camp Liberté is pleased to be able to leverage the extraordinary skills of Camp Papillon’s trained counsellors and staff. The onsite-camp team is committed to offering campers an authentic camping experience in a secure and nurturing environment.

Camp Papillon hosts nearly 500 campers each year. The site includes more than 80 buildings, including a sports pavilion, stimulation room, arts pavilion, multimedia library, medical clinic, cafeterias, and much more.

Campers at this location have a choice of activities to keep them active during the six-day camp. They can go zip lining, canoeing, swimming, fishing or they can do archery, aquatic games, overnight-outdoor camping, crafts or learn about reptiles.

The low instructor-to-camper ratio ensures a unique and safe experience for all children. Also, the medical team, including a board-certified dermatologist, two dermatology residents and nurses are on site 24-hours-a-day to help the children. A nutrition professional is also onsite.
