About Camp Horizon

About Camp West at Camp Horizon facilities

Camp Horizon is Camp Liberté’s host-camp in Bragg Creek, Alberta; minutes away from attractions like Elbow Falls, Moose Mountain, and Forgetmenot Pond.

Campers at Camp Horizon get to enjoy the big sky country while learning new skills, traversing tree-top rope courses, swinging on a giant swing, rock climbing, and challenging themselves in ways they never thought imaginable, all in a supportive environment.

Camp Horizon is an accredited camp with the Alberta Camping Association. The Kinsmen Club of Calgary built the camp facility in 1965, and since that time, the camp has created life-long memories for more than 100,000 visitors.

Camp Liberté is pleased to be able to leverage the extraordinary skills of Camp Horizon trained counsellors and staff. All counsellors must have current Standard First Aid and CPR certificates, and they all undergo intense training in June before campers arrive. Training includes how to run programs and games, how to support campers with personal care, behaviour support and helping children overcome homesickness and more.

The camp is located in the beautiful Kananaskis County on Highway 66, 10km Southwest of Bragg Creek.
